The incorporation of gamification strategies into educational processes has gained increasing relevance in mathematics education due to their potential to strengthen student motivation, participation, and academic performance. This research aimed to analyze the impact of gamification on academic performance in mathematics teaching through a systematic literature review with a descriptive-analytical approach. The methodology was developed under a qualitative-documentary approach using the PRISMA protocol guidelines for the selection, organization, and analysis of scientific studies published between 2019 and 2026 in indexed databases such as Scopus, Web of Science, ERIC, and Google Scholar. The results showed that gamified strategies significantly enhance mathematics learning by strengthening academic motivation, increasing student participation, and improving mathematical problem-solving through interactive and dynamic learning environments. Likewise, several studies reported improvements in academic performance indicators when digital platforms, interactive challenges, and collaborative dynamics were implemented in mathematics classrooms. However, limitations related to technological infrastructure, teacher training, and pedagogical design of gamified activities were also identified. It is concluded that gamification represents an innovative pedagogical strategy with high potential to transform contemporary mathematics education, provided that its implementation responds to adequate methodological planning and technological integration processes.
