Abstract

Welding activities are essential in metal structure manufacturing and maintenance but involve high exposure to mechanical risks that may seriously affect workers’ health and safety. This study aims to analyze the influence of mechanical risks in the welding workshop of the Municipal Decentralized Autonomous Government (GAD) of Buena Fe. A mixed research design was applied, combining descriptive, analytical, and observational methods through checklists, surveys, interviews, and document review. The study seeks to identify the main risk factors, assess their impact on occupational safety, and propose preventive measures aligned with national and international regulations. Expected results include reducing accidents, improving working conditions, and strengthening preventive culture, providing a reference framework for similar welding environments in Ecuador.
