Abstract

This article addresses the influence of recreational activities on the motor development of 4-year-old children, through a systematic review that analyzes the scientific literature available in this field. The objective of the research is to understand the impact of recreational activities on the motor development of children at an early age, with the purpose of identifying effective strategies to promote motor skills in this age group. To achieve this objective, a non-experimental descriptive qualitative design was used, following the PRISMA method of systematic review. The exhaustive review of the scientific literature made it possible to identify 25 relevant units of analysis, which were analyzed and presented in tables and diagrams. The results obtained revealed that recreational activities, applied appropriately, have a significant impact on the motor development of 4-year-old children. Improvement in fine and gross motor skills was observed, supporting the importance of integrating play and recreational activities into educational and community settings. These findings highlight the relevance of considering recreational activities as a fundamental tool for the comprehensive development of children in early childhood.
