DIGITAL PRESERVATION POLICY

In order to ensure long-term accessibility and preservation of its published content, Multidisciplinary Journal of Sciences, Discoveries, and Society implements a comprehensive set of digital preservation strategies:

• Regular backups: periodic backups of journal servers and files are performed to prevent data loss.

• Continuous OJS software updates: the journal continuously maintains and updates the Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform to prevent technological obsolescence, with contingency plans for future migrations if required.

• DOI assignment: each article is assigned a Digital Object Identifier (DOI), ensuring permanent traceability and long-term access.

• Multiple format storage: articles are preserved in multiple formats (PDF, HTML, XML-JATS) to facilitate accessibility and future usability.

• Reduction of technological dependencies: technical procedures are thoroughly documented to ensure long-term system self-sufficiency.

• Active preservation strategies: techniques such as data refreshing, technological migration, digital archaeology, and software preservation are applied to guarantee content continuity and accessibility.

Additionally, Multidisciplinary Journal of Sciences, Discoveries, and Society participates in the LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) program and the Public Knowledge Project – Private LOCKSS Network (PKP-PLN). These collaborative initiatives enable decentralized storage of journal content across partner libraries, ensuring recovery in the event of failures of the original servers.

These measures ensure that articles published in Multidisciplinary Journal of Sciences, Discoveries, and Society remain accessible, intact, and protected against data loss over time.
