Statement on Ethics and Responsible Publication Practices

Nexus Científico Multidisciplinary Journal en Ingeniería y Tecnología is committed to upholding the highest ethical standards throughout its editorial process. The journal adheres to the principles outlined in the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) Code of Conduct and follows the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) Recommendations to ensure transparency and integrity in manuscript handling and publication.

Editorial Responsibilities

Independent and fair evaluation
Manuscripts are evaluated solely on their scientific merit, originality, clarity, and relevance to the journal’s scope, regardless of the authors’ race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, or institutional affiliation. Editorial decisions are made independently and are not influenced by external pressures.

Confidentiality
All information related to submitted manuscripts is treated with strict confidentiality. Only the corresponding authors, assigned editors, and peer reviewers have access to manuscript details during the review process.

Conflicts of interest and disclosure
Editors must avoid participating in the evaluation of manuscripts where a conflict of interest exists, whether personal, institutional, or financial. Unpublished material from submitted manuscripts must not be used for personal or professional gain without the authors' written consent.

Scientific publication ethics
All submissions must comply with ethical standards applicable to the country or institution where the research was conducted. Authors are responsible for obtaining all necessary approvals prior to initiating the study.

If manuscripts contain images or data from human participants, their identity and privacy must be protected. The journal follows the ICMJE guidelines for manuscript preparation and publication.

Research involving humans and animals
Research involving human or animal subjects must adhere to internationally accepted ethical standards, such as the Declaration of Helsinki. Informed consent from participants is mandatory, and randomized clinical trials must be approved by a recognized ethics committee and registered in a public clinical trial database (e.g., ClinicalTrials.gov), including clear disclosure of funding sources.

Conflicts of interest
All authors must disclose any financial or personal relationships that may influence the interpretation or reporting of their work. If no conflicts exist, the manuscript must include the statement:
"Conflicts of interest: none."
If conflicts do exist, they must be disclosed in accordance with the ICMJE form, which should match the information reported in the manuscript.

Funding disclosure
Authors must declare the organizations that provided financial support for the research and/or manuscript preparation, specifying their involvement in the study’s design, data collection, analysis, writing, and submission.
If no funding was received, this must be clearly stated in the corresponding section of the manuscript.
