Author Guidelines

PUBLICATION GUIDELINES

Authors interested in publishing in Star of Sciences Multidisciplinary Journal must submit their manuscripts via email to estrellaediciones3@gmail.com or through the journal’s online system. Only unpublished manuscripts that are not under evaluation by other scientific journals will be considered.

Manuscripts may be submitted in Spanish or English, as long as at least one author is a native speaker or the text has been professionally translated.

Manuscript format and structure

Submissions must be in Microsoft Word format (.doc or .docx), using Garamond font, size 12, 1.15 line spacing, and A4 paper size.

Manuscript structure:

  • Length: between 11 and 20 pages (approximately 3,500 to 8,000 words).

  • Title: in both Spanish and English, with a maximum of 15 words.

  • Author details: include email, ORCID identifier (e.g., https://orcid.org/0000-0002-2237-7613), and institutional affiliation.

  • Abstract: in Spanish and English, with a maximum of 240 words.

  • Keywords: three to five in each language, separated by commas.

  • Main text:

    • For research articles: Introduction, Methodology, Results, Discussion, and Conclusions.

    • For other article types: Development and Conclusions.

Additional considerations:

  • Page numbers: should be placed at the center of the footer.

  • Tables and figures: must be numbered in order of appearance, with titles at the top. Figures must be in .jpg or .png format, maximum 10 cm wide and 100 KB in size.

  • Footnotes: numbered using Arabic numerals, with a maximum of 60 words each.

  • Appendices: must be referenced within the text and placed at the end of the document.

Citations and references

References must follow APA 7th edition style. A minimum of 15 references is required, preferably from the last five years and indexed in Scopus or SciELO. References should be listed alphabetically at the end of the manuscript using hanging indentation.

Examples:

  • Book: Lastname, A. A. (Year). Title of the book. Publisher.

  • Journal article: Lastname, A. A. (Year). Title of the article. Journal Name, volume(issue), xx–xx.

Plagiarism policy
The editorial board uses specialized software to detect similarities with other publications, ensuring the originality of submitted works.

Privacy statement
The names and email addresses provided to the journal will be used exclusively for editorial purposes and will not be shared with third parties.

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

  • This submission meets the requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
  • This submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration.
  • All references have been checked for accuracy and completeness.
  • All tables and figures have been numbered and labeled.
  • Permission has been obtained to publish all photos, datasets and other material provided with this submission.

Original Research Articles

This section publishes original research articles derived from unpublished scientific investigations that provide relevant and verifiable results across the diverse areas covered by the journal: natural sciences, technology, engineering, social sciences, humanities, and related disciplines. Manuscripts must present a rigorous academic structure, including introduction, theoretical framework, clearly described methodology, results supported by empirical or experimental evidence, critical discussion, and relevant conclusions. Special consideration will be given to interdisciplinary contributions that advance scientific and technological knowledge at regional and international levels. All submissions undergo a double-blind peer review process to ensure scientific quality, originality, thematic relevance, and compliance with international ethical standards in research and academic publishing.

Original Research Articles

This section publishes short scientific communications presenting preliminary results, research advances, methodological developments, or relevant findings that, due to their concise nature, do not require the length of a full research article. Manuscripts must clearly state the research problem, methodology applied, and main results, ensuring scientific rigor and argumentative coherence. Innovative contributions that provide significant evidence or insights to the academic community will be particularly valued. All submissions undergo a double-blind peer review process to ensure academic quality, thematic relevance, and compliance with international ethical standards.

Privacy Statement

The identity of authors and their contributions will be safeguarded by the editorial team and the scientific committee of Star of Sciences Multidisciplinary Journal (SSMJ) in the event that a manuscript is not accepted for publication.

Manuscripts that are under review will not be shared or disclosed until they are formally published, if approved. All information contained in submitted manuscripts will be treated as strictly confidential and will not be used for personal purposes or for any purpose unrelated to the editorial process.

The personal data of authors, members of the editorial and scientific committees, and external reviewers entered into this journal will be used exclusively for the academic and editorial purposes declared by Star of Sciences Multidisciplinary Journal. Under no circumstances will such data be provided to third parties or used for purposes other than those established in the journal’s editorial policies.
