Open Access and Digital Preservation Policy

Nexus Científico Multidisciplinary Journal en Ingeniería y Tecnología (NCMJIT) adopts an Open Access model under an academic and non-profit approach, with the purpose of promoting the global dissemination of scientific, technological and applied knowledge, as well as the interdisciplinary exchange of ideas in the fields of engineering, technology, innovation and applied sciences.

All published content is distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0), which allows free, immediate and unrestricted access to articles, as well as their use, distribution, reproduction and reuse for legal purposes, provided that authorship and the original source of publication are properly acknowledged.

Through this model, the journal reaffirms its commitment to the democratization of knowledge, the international visibility of scientific production and the strengthening of research in areas such as civil, electrical, electronic, mechanical, industrial, systems and computer engineering, telecommunications, renewable energies, artificial intelligence, automation, data science, sustainability and emerging technologies.

Digital Preservation Policy

In order to guarantee the preservation, integrity and permanent availability of the scientific content published, Nexus Científico Multidisciplinary Journal en Ingeniería y Tecnología adopts a formal digital preservation policy aligned with international standards and good editorial practices.

The journal implements the following preservation strategies:

  • Periodic backup of servers and editorial files.
  • Continuous updating of the Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform to prevent technological obsolescence and facilitate future migrations.
  • Assignment of Digital Object Identifiers (DOI) to published articles, ensuring persistent identification and academic traceability.
  • Storage of content in multiple formats, such as PDF, HTML and XML-JATS, promoting interoperability, access, indexing and long-term digital preservation.

Likewise, the journal may participate in international distributed digital preservation networks, such as LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) and CLOCKSS, which allow decentralized storage of content in collaborating libraries, ensuring its recovery in the event of technical failures or loss of information on the original servers. In addition, it may be integrated into the PKP Preservation Network – Public Knowledge Project, according to the technical configuration of the editorial platform.

Interoperability Protocols

Nexus Científico Multidisciplinary Journal en Ingeniería y Tecnología incorporates interoperability protocols that allow its content to be harvested by other distribution systems, academic repositories and global scientific information platforms. The journal provides an OAI-PMH interface (Open Archives Initiative – Protocol for Metadata Harvesting), ensuring that the metadata of each article is available to external information services.
