Nexus Científico Multidisciplinary Journal en Ingeniería y Tecnología (NCMJIT) is an open access, multidisciplinary scientific journal founded in 2023 by Estrella Ediciones. The journal is focused on the publication of original and unpublished works in areas related to engineering, technology, innovation, applied sciences, intelligent systems, digital transformation and sustainable development, promoting academic, scientific and technical knowledge exchange with an impact on contemporary society.

The journal accepts the following types of manuscripts:

Original Articles

These articles present unpublished results derived from empirical, experimental, applied or theoretical research, with new and verifiable contributions to the corresponding disciplinary field.

Studies may be based on primary or secondary data obtained through surveys, interviews, experiments, statistical analyses, case studies, modelling, simulations, technological development, fieldwork or other recognized scientific methods.

Length: 3,000 to 6,500 words.

Mandatory structure: Abstract, Introduction, Methodology, Results, Discussion, Conclusions and References.

Bibliographic Review Articles

These articles consist of critical and interpretative analyses of relevant scientific literature on a specific topic within the areas covered by the journal.

They must provide a clear description of the sources consulted and an argumentative approach that integrates, contrasts and discusses the main theoretical, methodological, technical and conceptual contributions.

Length: 3,500 to 7,500 words.

Suggested structure: Abstract, Introduction, Thematic Development, Discussion, Conclusions and References.

Systematic Review Articles

These articles consist of a rigorous and methodologically structured synthesis of the available scientific literature on a clearly defined research question, aimed at integrating evidence, identifying knowledge gaps and generating relevant contributions in the fields of engineering, technology and applied sciences.

Manuscripts must apply the PRISMA method (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses) and explicitly describe:

– The databases consulted
– The search strategies used
– The inclusion and exclusion criteria
– The analysis and synthesis procedures

The inclusion of the PRISMA flow diagram is mandatory.

Length: 3,500 to 5,500 words.

Mandatory structure: Abstract, Introduction, Methodology, Results, Discussion, Conclusions and References.

Essay Articles

These are academic works of a reflective, critical and argumentative nature, in which the author develops a theoretical or interpretative position on relevant contemporary issues within the fields of engineering, technology, innovation or applied sciences.

They do not present empirical results or systematic reviews, but must be supported by relevant scientific literature and demonstrate conceptual rigor, argumentative coherence and originality.

Length: 2,500 to 6,500 words.

Suggested structure: Abstract, Introduction, Argumentative Development, Discussion, Conclusions and References.

Editorial Process and Evaluation

All submitted manuscripts undergo a preliminary editorial review to verify their suitability according to the journal’s focus and scope, language quality, internal coherence, compliance with formal guidelines, ethical criteria and similarity analysis.

Manuscripts that pass this stage are evaluated by external academic peers under the double-blind review system, ensuring the confidentiality of both authors and reviewers.

Possible editorial decisions are: acceptance, acceptance with modifications, resubmission for further evaluation or rejection.

Manuscript Submission

Manuscripts must be submitted exclusively through the journal’s Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform.

For submission, authors must use the official Word template (DOCX) available on the editorial platform.

Required documentation:

– Manuscript in DOC or DOCX format
– Authorship contribution statement
– Originality letter
– Informed consent, when applicable

Previously published works or manuscripts under simultaneous evaluation in other journals will not be accepted.

Manuscript Format

The manuscript must be submitted in DOCX format, using Arial font. The main title must be written in 12-point size. The body of the article must use 11-point size, with 1.5 line spacing and justified alignment.

The abstract and resumen must be presented in 11-point size, with single line spacing. Bibliographic references must also be written in 11-point size, with single line spacing.

Abstract and Keywords

The abstract must be clear, concise and self-contained, including the objective of the study, general methodology, main results and relevant conclusions. All abbreviations must be defined upon first use.

Authors must include between three and five keywords that facilitate the indexing and academic visibility of the manuscript.

Article Structure

The manuscript must be organized into clearly identified sections, with coherent and hierarchical titles and subtitles, according to the journal’s official template.

Citation and Reference Style

Nexus Científico Multidisciplinary Journal en Ingeniería y Tecnología adopts a multidisciplinary editorial approach within the fields of engineering, technology and applied sciences. Therefore, the citation style must correspond to the disciplinary field of the manuscript.

The APA 7th edition style is applicable to works related to technological education, management, innovation, applied social sciences, administration, sustainability, organizational studies and related areas. Citations must include the author’s surname and year of publication, and all cited references must appear in the final reference list.

The Vancouver style is applicable to manuscripts related to health sciences, biotechnology, biomedical engineering, food engineering, environmental sciences, technical processes and related disciplines. References must be numbered consecutively according to their order of appearance in the text, following the guidelines of the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE).

Each manuscript must use a single citation style consistently throughout the document. The combination of citation styles is not permitted.

Figures and Tables

Figures and tables must be numbered consecutively, include clear descriptive titles and indicate the corresponding source when applicable.

In the case of graphs, diagrams, plans, models, simulations, technical schemes, visual codes or data representations, authors must ensure their clarity, legibility and correspondence with the manuscript content.

Corrections and Final Version

When a manuscript is returned for corrections, authors must attach a response-to-reviewers document detailing the observations received, the changes made and the corresponding justification.

Editorial Policy

These guidelines form part of the editorial policy of Nexus Científico Multidisciplinary Journal en Ingeniería y Tecnología and aim to guarantee the scientific quality, editorial transparency, academic integrity and technical relevance of the works published.
