DIGITAL PRESERVATION POLICY

In order to ensure long-term accessibility and preservation of the published content, Aurum Académico Multidisciplinary Journal en Educación implements various digital preservation strategies:

  • Regular backups: Regular backups of the journal's servers and files are made to prevent data loss.

  • Continuous updating of OJS software: The Open Journal Systems (OJS) software is continuously maintained and updated to prevent technological obsolescence, with plans for future migrations if necessary.

  • DOI assignment: Each article is assigned a Digital Object Identifier (DOI), ensuring traceability and permanent access over time.

  • Storage in multiple formats: Articles are stored in various formats (PDF, HTML, XML-JATS) to facilitate accessibility and future reproduction.

  • Reducing technological dependencies: Technical procedures are documented in detail to ensure the self-sufficiency of the long-term preservation system.

  • Active preservation strategies: Techniques such as data rejuvenation, technological migration, digital archaeology, and software preservation are implemented to ensure the continuity and accessibility of content.

Additionally, Aurum Académico Multidisciplinary Journal en Educación is part of the LOCKSS Private Network (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) and the Public Knowledge Project - Private LOCKSS Network (PKP-PLN). These collaborative initiatives allow the journal’s content to be stored in a decentralized manner at partner libraries, ensuring its recovery in case of failures in the original servers.
