PEER REVIEW POLICY

Aurum Académico Multidisciplinary Journal en Educación follows a rigorous and transparent peer review process to ensure the quality, originality, and academic relevance of the articles it publishes. This process uses a double-blind system, in which both authors and reviewers remain anonymous, ensuring objective and impartial evaluations.

Phase 1: Initial Evaluation
The process begins with an initial screening conducted by the editorial team. Within a maximum of 72 hours, authors receive a notification by email along with a unique reference number. During this stage, the Editor-in-Chief or an assigned editor evaluates the manuscript’s alignment with the journal’s scope, its originality, academic relevance, and potential contribution to the field.

Articles may be rejected at this point if they fail to meet journal standards, show structural weaknesses, unclear findings, or plagiarized content. In cases of doubt, the Editorial Committee may be consulted for additional evaluation.

Manuscripts that pass this stage move on to the peer review phase.

Phase 2: Double-Blind Peer Review
Manuscripts that advance to this stage are reviewed in detail by experts in the subject area under a double-blind system. Each reviewer assesses the manuscript according to the following criteria:

  • Relevance and potential impact on the academic community.

  • Clarity and coherence in writing.

  • Theoretical soundness and logical structure.

  • Proper and up-to-date use of references.

  • Methodological rigor and validity of the research design.

  • Depth and consistency of the analysis.

  • Originality and value of the conclusions.

Reviewers have up to 30 days to complete their evaluations. Once finalized, authors receive an editorial decision. If revisions are needed, authors are given between 8 and 15 days to make the necessary changes.

Phase 3: Editorial Quality Control
After peer review, manuscripts undergo editorial quality control, which includes grammar and spelling checks, and verification of formatting according to journal guidelines. The content is also reviewed to ensure it aligns with the journal’s scope and editorial policy.

Even if a manuscript passes this stage, immediate publication is not guaranteed, as the final decision depends on editorial priorities, publication scheduling, and the overall impact of the article.

Total Editorial Process Duration
The full editorial process typically takes 8 to 12 weeks, including the initial evaluation, peer review, editorial quality control, and final decision. Timelines may vary depending on article complexity and reviewer availability.

Roles and Confidentiality

  • Academic Editor: Oversees the entire process, ensuring that manuscripts meet the required quality and rigor. Reviewers have a maximum of 8 days to submit their reports; authors are notified in case of delays.

  • Reviewer Confidentiality: Reviewer identities remain anonymous throughout the process unless they choose to disclose them.

  • Number of Reviewers: At least two subject experts review each manuscript, and more may be assigned if needed.
