Abstract

Childhood represents a critical stage in the human developmental process, marked by two fundamental phenomena: growth and development, both of which require adequate nutrition. Child malnutrition is one of the most distressing issues within a society, as during this phase the child’s brain undergoes its most significant changes, and any deficiency can result in irreversible metabolic and structural damage. However, child malnutrition goes beyond the mere lack of food; it is a complex social issue that primarily affects the academic performance of each pupil, with long-term implications for their educational future. Consequently, the aim of this study is to identify the specific causes in order to propose solutions that benefit the children of Quintana Roo.
