Abstract

Technological advancement has transformed the way individuals access knowledge and interact with their environment, making digital competencies essential for personal and professional development. However, many primary education students face challenges in acquiring these skills effectively. The incorporation of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in education is crucial, as they promote active, collaborative, and contextualised learning, enriching educational resources and enhancing cognitive development. To achieve effective integration, ICT must be adapted to the characteristics of the students and the curricular objectives. In this context, a study conducted at the Ricardo Rodríguez Sparovich Educational Unit employed questionnaires and observations to analyse the development of digital skills. The findings highlight the importance of pedagogical strategies that strengthen these competencies, fostering meaningful learning and preparing students to meet the challenges of today’s digital society.
