Contemporary transformations in higher education have promoted the implementation of pedagogical methodologies aimed at strengthening communicative competencies that are essential for the academic and professional performance of university students. In this context, student-centered pedagogical strategies have gained relevance due to their ability to foster more participatory, reflective, and collaborative learning processes. The objective of this study was to analyze student-centered pedagogical strategies for strengthening communicative competencies in higher education through a narrative review of the scientific literature. The methodology was developed under a qualitative-documentary approach based on the analysis of 20 scientific studies published between 2019 and 2026 in academic databases such as Scopus, Web of Science, ERIC, and Google Scholar. The findings revealed that methodologies such as collaborative learning, problem-based learning, flipped classroom, and educational gamification significantly enhance skills related to oral expression, academic writing, scientific argumentation, and critical thinking. Likewise, limitations associated with teacher training, technological infrastructure, and institutional resistance to pedagogical innovation processes were identified. It is concluded that student-centered strategies represent relevant pedagogical approaches for strengthening communicative competencies in higher education and promoting more dynamic, participatory, and comprehensive educational processes.
