Abstract

Vocational orientation is essential for students to remain in technical and vocational high school programs. This study explores its impact at Unidad Educativa Dr. Odilón Gómez Andrade, evaluating how proper support influences academic choices and reduces dropout rates. Using a mixed-method approach, surveys and interviews were conducted with students and teachers to assess their prior knowledge and the effectiveness of a vocational guidance booklet. The findings reveal that many students lack information about their educational and career options, highlighting the need for improved guidance strategies. Furthermore, the study confirms that structured support enhances decision-making, increases motivation, and promotes student retention. In conclusion, the research emphasizes that implementing resources like the proposed booklet can strengthen vocational guidance, assisting students in successfully transitioning into their academic and professional futures.
