Abstract

Neuroeducation is a field that combines cognitive neuroscience, psychology, and pedagogy to explain how the brain learns and why this is important for teaching. This article explores neuroscientific viewpoints on the acquisition of reading and writing, neuroplasticity and emotion, neurodidactic approaches, play, and gamification. Recent studies show that reading and writing stimulate different areas of the brain and that learning through the senses helps with memory and understanding. Neuroplasticity posits that experiences mold the brain and that emotions facilitate deep learning. Research indicates that active methodologies, spaced repetition, and free recall are effective in enhancing attention and memory. Finally, play and gamification activate dopaminergic circuits, enhancing motivation, creativity, and the retention of knowledge. Neuroeducation provides scientific evidence to improve teaching methods, making them more compassionate, inclusive, and emotionally intelligent. Neuroeducation acknowledges that learning involves cognitive, biological, and emotional aspects, with emotion, motivation, and brain plasticity forming the basis of profound and lasting learning.
