Abstract

This article explores the importance of emotional education in the comprehensive development of students, addressing its impact on academic performance, emotional well-being, and social skills. Through research conducted with high school students in Guayaquil, Ecuador, the effectiveness of an emotional education program was analyzed. The results showed significant improvements in emotional competencies such as self-regulation and empathy, as well as in students' overall well-being. Additionally, students who participated in the program demonstrated better academic performance and more positive social behavior, supporting the idea that emotional education is fundamental to academic and personal success. The findings suggest that integrating emotional education into school curricula can have lasting positive effects on students' lives, enhancing both their personal development and academic performance.
